Our dynamic women’s Facebook community, All Women All Trails: Hiking & Backpacking began almost as an afterthought. In March 2016 Bunny Kramer was already running the successful, lively Appalachian Trail: Women’s Group on Facebook and wanted a separate place to capture all the great conversations about other trails.

More than two years later All Women All Trails: Hiking & Backpacking has grown organically to over 37,000 women strong, with more than 1,500 new members joining each month. We’ve planted acorns in the form of special interest groups for hiking artists, women who carry handguns, women who adventure with their pets, and of course a book club.

Our members now span all ages from 11 to 81 and are from around the globe. We have women brand new to hiking next to record-breaking thru-hikers, and suburban nature trail lovers next to rustic wilderness guides. Clearly there’s a need for a female-centered online space where women can get essential hiking and backpacking information and have their questions answered in a non-judgmental and supportive way.

All Women All Trails (the website) is the new permanent home of the shared wisdom, experiences, and support that have appeared in the Facebook group since the beginning. We have an amazing bunch of writers and bloggers sharing their thoughts here!
